Thirty-eight journalist groups under the umbrella of the Society of Professional Journalists have blasted the White House, claiming the tone set by President Obama has been less than forthcoming when it comes to providing information.
Specifically, they charged the administration with the “politically driven suppression of news,” Breitbart reported.
David Cuillier, president of the Society of Professional Journalists, wrote: “You need look no further than your own administration for a major source of that frustration — politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies. We call on you to take a stand to stop the spin and let the sunshine in.”
Among the listed complaints were that administration officials were blocking reporters’ requests to speak to certain staffers, were unnecessarily delaying reporters’ requests for interviews and were blackballing reporters who wrote critical pieces, Breitbart reported.
