A Houston father accused of killing four of his children and two adults finally surrendered to police, following a tense armed standoff that lasted for hours.

Also injured in the shooting rampage was the man’s 15-year-old daughter, The Associated Press reported.

“It appears this stems from a domestic issue with a breakup in the family from what our witness has told us,” said Assistant Chief Deputy Constable Mark Herman of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, in the AP report.

Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas Gilliland said two boys, ages 4 and 14 were killed, along with two girls, ages 7 and 9. The two adults were aged 39 and 33.

The 15-year-old wounded girl told police the shooter was her father, AP reported.

Authorities say the suspect is due for his first appearance in court on Thursday.
