Social media users are in an uproar after a teenage hunter from Texas posted photographs of herself with her kills — a range of African animals, including a lion, rhino, antelope, elephant, hippopotamus, zebra and leopard.

Almost 40,000 have signed a petition to get Facebook authorities to take down the pictures, The Huffington Post reported.

The photos depict Kendall Jones, 19, in various poses with her kills, which she made during hunting trips to Africa, the New York Post reported.

The petition states: “For the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region … where hunters are going for gun[s] just to kill an animal! Some people have been reporting the pages lately but it seems Facebook is not concerned about what Kendall Jones is promoting in her page.”

Ms. Jones includes a short description of each photo she posts, giving a little more context to the hunt.
