OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - The state Health Department says the flu is peaking in Washington.

The department says the death toll is likely much higher than the 19 lab-confirmed deaths this season.

Vaccinations are still recommended even though it takes two weeks after the flu shot for protection.
