ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) - Jamie Adams scored 27 points Saturday night and Florida A&M held off a second-half surge by South Carolina State to win 78-72.

Trey Kellum added 13 points and Jamari Bradshaw, Reggie Lewis each scored 12 for Florida A&M (7-11, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). The Rattlers outshot the Bulldogs (5-12, 1-3) from the field 45.2 percent to 40.7 percent. Adams had four steals.

Florida A&M led 36-31 at halftime and pulled ahead to lead 72-65 with 2:28 to play in the second half when the Bulldogs surged to come within six points.

The Bulldogs were hurt by 21 turnovers and were outshot from beyond the arc 38.9 percent (7 of 18) to 29.4 percent (5 of 17).

Matthew Hezekiah led the Bulldogs with 26 points and five blocks, Adama Adams scored 18, including 3 of 6 3-pointers, and Jalen White added 10 points.
