CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs are rescheduling a game in late June to ease traffic in connection with the city’s annual Pride Parade.
The parade is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, when the Cubs were set to play the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field.
Cubs officials announced Thursday that the team will now play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, June 28, with start times of 12:05 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Cubs officials say Alderman Tom Tunney requested moving the date of the game in consideration of neighborhood traffic and congestion.
The city’s annual Pride Parade is one of the largest in the nation. It’s drawn more than 800,000 people in the past and snakes through several neighborhoods.
