JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska (AP) - The Air Force says an airman has died at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska.
In a statement Friday, the Air Force said Staff Sgt. Darian Miller was pronounced dead Tuesday. The Air Force says its Office of Special Investigations is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. No additional details about Miller’s death were provided.
The 38-year-old native of Marion, S.C., was described as a non-commissioned officer in charge of knowledge operations management for the 3rd Air Support Operations Squadron.
Miller joined the Air Force in September 1994. He arrived at JBER in August 2011.
A memorial service is scheduled next Thursday.
