FORT BRAGG, N.C. | Military officials have identified two soldiers from Fort Bragg who were killed during an insider attack in Afghanistan on Wednesday.
The Department of Defense announced Friday that 22-year-old Spc. John A. Pelham of Portland, Ore., and 41-year-old Sgt. First Class Roberto C. Skelt of York, Fla., died on Feb. 12, in Kapisa Province, of wounds suffered when they were struck by enemy small arms fire.
Pelham and Skelt were assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
Pelham and Skelt were the third soldiers from Fort Bragg killed in Afghanistan this week. Officials said 27-year-old Spc. Christopher A. Landis of Independence, Ky., died Feb. 10, on Bagram Air Field from wounds received when the enemy attacked his dismounted patrol with a rocket-propelled grenade, also in Kapisa Province.
