TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Jordan Smith scored 16 points and hit two key 3-pointers late in the game as South Carolina State defeated Florida A&M 63-59 in overtime Saturday.
Smith hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds to play in regulation to tie the game at 53. Reggie Lewis missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer for Florida A&M to send the game into overtime.
After Darryl Palmer scored for South Carolina State, Lewis answered with a trey to give the Rattlers a one-point lead, 56-55 with 4:10 to play in overtime. Jalen White scored back-to back layups, and Smith hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to cap the scoring for South Carolina State (8-13, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Devin Joint grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who have won three of their last four games.
Lewis scored 20 points on 6-of-17 shooting to lead Florida A&M (7-14, 3-5), which has lost three straight.
