Do the events in Ferguson, Mo., offer unique insight into what went wrong in Benghazi? Yes, and it’s not anecdotal. When decision makers are out of sync with the officials on the ground, there’s no leadership.

In Ferguson, Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson is an able leader without the needed resources. Instead of hoarding resources in Washington and dispatching the U.S. attorney general to Ferguson to observe the situation, a better strategy would be to give Capt. Johnson, a Ferguson resident, the resources to help protect and heal his community.
