An emerging conservative news organization launched less than a year ago has promising news. Herring Networks Inc. announced Wednesday that One America News Network, which offers national and global news plus exclusive content, has been added to the channel lineup on Verizon’s FiOS TV.
The network is now available in standard definition to approximately 5 million FiOS customers who have access to the Prime, Extreme and Ultimate TV packages, as well as FiOS channel 116. One America News Network in HD is also available on channel 616. Both are geared to the tastes of conservative as well as independently minded audiences.
“We’re extremely pleased that One America News Network has joined the programming lineup on Verizon’s FiOS TV and we’re grateful that Verizon customers can easily find One America News Network in the same neighborhood as other leading cable news networks,” said Robert Herring Sr., CEO of One America News Network. “We’re confident that our programming lineup of national and international news, interactive talk shows, current affairs programs and informative documentaries will resonate well with Verizon’s customer base.”
Along with straightforward breaking news and updates, the network features two popular one-hour opinion shows five days a week: “The Daily Ledger” and “The Rick Amato Show,” featuring conservative commentary and a host of on-camera analysts and policy specialists from The Washington Times, Politico and other news organizations.
The shows have distinctive qualities.
“The Daily Ledger” anchor Graham Ledger says he explores what is behind the top issues and stories of the day “using a conservative, Constitutional prism.” Mr. Amato intends to “expose the gap between mainstream America and the political class.”
The network, which launched July 4, maintains news bureaus in California and the nation’s capital.
Herring Networks is an established presence in cable broadcast and is behind one of the first all high-definition cable networks — A Wealth of Entertainment, or AWE — a revamped version of what was known as WealthTV, which launched a decade ago.
