MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Sheriff’s officials say the Iowa woman whose body was discovered in a rural area near Minneapolis over the weekend was last seen alive in Illinois last December.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body found in rural Dakota County Saturday as 29-year-old Carrie Elaine Olson of Davenport, Iowa.
Dakota County sheriff’s officials said Wednesday Olson was last seen Dec. 28 at a 7-Eleven store in Rock Island, Ill. She was driving a 2005 Toyota Avalon with Iowa license plates. Authorities say she was wearing blue jeans and an Iowa Hawkeyes sweatshirt.
The sheriff’s office is working with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and police in Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island, Ill., on the investigation.
