JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A baby zebra is the latest addition at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.

Zoo officials say the 82-pound female foal was born Sunday. It’s the fifth foal for mother Darasa and the second for father Mosi.

The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1gLHvnY ) reports the baby Grevy zebra and the zoo’s other two Grevy zebras will be on exhibit on Thursday. The males of the species are known to play rough, so the father will be kept in the back holding yard until the foal adjusts.

Naming rights for the new arrival will be auctioned off as part of a fundraising event called ExZooberation on Saturday.

Curator Craig Miller says its rewarding for the staff to see Darasa taking care of her newborn.
