ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police say one of their homicide detectives will be featured in a show on the TLC Network.

Officials said in a statement that an episode of the network’s show “Women of Homicide” will feature Investigator Summer Benton, an 11-year department veteran.

Department officials say women account for only about 15 percent of homicide detectives nationwide. Benton is expected to be featured on the show’s second episode, which airs April 16.

Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Espy says Benton has solved 23 cases and is a hostage negotiator for the City of Atlanta.

Police Chief George Turner says Benton is an integral part of the Homicide Unit and will give viewers a glimpse of a day in the life of an Atlanta homicide investigator.
