HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - APAC Customer Services Inc. says it plans to hire up to 500 full-time workers at its High Point service center, a move it describes as a ripple effect of the company serving a “major telecommunications client.”

The Winston-Salem Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1i8XEEW) the company’s goal is hiring the workers by July 31. They will provide customer service and sales support at the service center.

According to the city’s Economic Development Commission, NCO Group/APAC is the city’s ninth largest employer with 865 full-time or full-time equivalent employees.

Earlier this week, APAC announced that it plans to close a call center in Charlotte on May 9. Fifteen full-time workers and 224 temporary employees will lose their jobs.
