ATLANTA (AP) - Forecasters say roof damage and downed trees have been reported following a severe storm that crossed Troup County in western Georgia.
Ryan Willis of the National Weather Service says damage was reported to homes about five miles north of LaGrange Monday night. Willis says an assessment team will be sent to the area to determine what kind of storm caused the damage.
Troup County was included with Meriwether, Heard and Coweta counties in a tornado warning that expired around 7:45 p.m. Another tornado warning in Dade County, an area of far northwestern Georgia, expired at 10 p.m.
Willis says meteorologists are expecting thunderstorms to continue moving into western Georgia overnight, and into the metro Atlanta area around sunrise.
