ATLANTA (AP) - A federal judge in Atlanta has denied bond for a woman facing charges in the kidnapping of a North Carolina prosecutor’s father.

The judge said Thursday that there was no way to guarantee Patricia Kramer would show up for trial and wouldn’t be a danger to the community.

Kramer was one of nine people indicted Tuesday in the April 5 kidnapping of Frank Janssen. Authorities say the kidnapping was retaliation for Janssen’s daughter’s prosecution of a high-ranking member of the Bloods gang being held in a North Carolina prison.

Prosecutors say Kramer rented the vehicles used in the North Carolina kidnapping plot and another attempted kidnapping plot in Louisiana.

The seven suspects arrested in the Atlanta area all were denied bond and will be sent to North Carolina for trial.
