FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas scored early and got strong pitching to hold off Vanderbilt 3-1 in Southeastern Conference college baseball.
The Razorbacks scored once in the first inning of Sunday’s game in Fayetteville on a bases loaded walk and added two runs in the fifth. Razorbacks’ starter Chris Oliver gave up one run on six hits in 6.2 innings and gets the win to improve to 5-3 on the season.
Vanderbilt’s Brian Reynolds homered in the seventh inning off Oliver for the Commodores’ only run.
UA improves to 25-16 overall and 9-9 in SEC play while Vanderbilt falls to 29-12 on the season and 8-10 in the conference.
