LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Two doctors who run a Little Rock medical clinic are facing a federal indictment for $1.2 million in alleged health care fraud.

A grand jury on Wednesday indicted Drs. Robert Barrow and Angela Barrow. The two are husband and wife.

Both are charged with one count of conspiracy and six counts of health care fraud. Robert Barrow also faces four counts of making false statements in relation to health care matters.

Prosecutors say the Barrows affiliated their practice with a massage therapist, whose services were improperly billed to health insurance companies as physical therapy. The indictment says the Barrows split the proceeds with the massage therapist.

Claims to Medicare and a private insurer totaled more than $1.2 million. Robert Barrow is also accused of billing for ultrasounds that weren’t performed.
