SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Bipartisan commissions will hold public meetings in Santa Fe, Lovington and Los Lunas in June to recommend candidates to Gov. Susana Martinez for possible appointment to new judgeships.

Separate judicial nominating commissions will interview applicants for district court judgeships the Legislature and governor approved earlier this year.

A meeting is scheduled June 6 at the Lea County Courthouse in Lovington on a judgeship in the 5th Judicial District. Lawyers have until May 27 to apply to be considered.

A commission is to meet June 9 in Los Lunas to evaluate candidates for a 13th District judgeship in Sandoval County. Applications are due May 29.

A meeting is planned June 19 in Santa Fe to consider applicants for a 1st District judgeship. Applications are due by June 10.
