JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) - Aegis Communications Group says it plans to hire 150 workers for full-time jobs at its Joplin call center.

The company says the hiring will begin this month, with the first 50 people hired by April 18. Workers at the center take incoming calls and make outgoing calls for clients.

The Joplin Globe reports (https://bit.ly/QcMKY1 ) a recruiter for Aegis says the jobs were created when an existing client added a new line of business.

The company currently has 480 employees in Joplin.

Aegis is working with the Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri and the board’s on-the-job training program to help fill the job openings.
