BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Montana Tech has agreed to pay $40,000 to its athletic director in exchange for his promise not to sue the university over his firing earlier this year.

The Montana Standard (https://bit.ly/1jVh1bm ) obtained the separation agreement with Charles Bradley on Tuesday along with the reference letter the school agreed to send any potential new employers.

Montana Tech announced in January that Bradley was no longer with the school.

School officials have said he would be paid the remainder of his $87,000 annual salary. The agreement reached late last week includes the $40,000 lump sum to Bradley and his attorney.

Montana Tech has named former football coach Bob Green as interim athletic director and continues to search for Bradley’s replacement.
