A museum located in Washington D.C. that chronicles the media plans to add two dead terrorists to its “Journalists Memorial.”
The Newseum’s Journalists Memorial “pays tribute to reporters, photographers and broadcasters who have died reporting the news. The names of more than 2,000 individuals from around the world are etched on the glass panels of the soaring, two-story structure,” the announcement reads.
But among the newly added journalists are two former members of the terrorist group Hamas, Mahmoud Al-Kumi and Hussam Salama.
The descriptions for the men are identical, saying that both of the “Al-Aqsa cameramen [were] killed in an Israeli air strike. They were covering fighting between Israel and the militant group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, when a missile hit their vehicle. Al-Aqsa said the journalists’ car was clearly marked ’TV.’”
The Weekly Standard reports that both Israel Defense Forces and Palestinian media confirmed the cameramen were Hamas operatives at the time of the attack, Nov. 20, 2012.
