Turmoil has rocked Britain’s parliament as anti-Tory party politicos demanded Prime Minister David Cameron oust Chancellor George Osborne.

The Daily Mail reports that rebel MPs are scrambling for support to send a letter to Mr. Cameron calling for him to fire Mr. Osborne from Treasury, if the United Kingdom falls further into recession.

Mr. Cameron faces a call for ouster himself.

The Daily Mail also reports that critics are preparing a vote of no confidence in him if he does not deliver promised Tory party gains at the polls in 2014.

Mr. Cameron, meanwhile, said in a Telegraph report that he has “full confidence” in Mr. Osborne and will not cave to pressures to sack him.
