Bill Clinton was a two-term president, but he was one and done using the social media tool Twitter.

After sending his first — and apparently only — tweet last Saturday, former President Bill Clinton has relinquished control of his Twitter account.

The account, @PrezBillyJeff, was the creation of comedian and late-night satirist Stephen Colbert, who interviewed the 42nd president on Saturday afternoon.

As a joke, Mr. Colbert created a Twitter account for Mr. Clinton, who has avoided joining the social media hub.

Mr. Clinton officially sent one tweet: “Just spend amazing time with Colbert! Is he sane? He is cool!”

Since then, the account has tweeted three times, each with the hashtag #notColbertpretendingtobeme.

The most recent tweet says “Just picked up Ayn Rand. Mind = blown. Get to work, you moochers!”

As of early Tuesday morning, @PrezBillyJeff has more than 32,000 followers.

Of course, he was only “following” one person: Colbert.
