DOVER, DEL. (AP) - Attorneys for Fox Sports want to depose Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and baseball Commissioner Bud Selig as they try get the Dodgers’ bankruptcy case dismissed.
Fox attorneys sent out deposition notices late last week to McCourt, Selig and other executives for the Dodgers and Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers sought bankruptcy protection in June after Selig rejected a renegotiated TV deal with Fox that McCourt was counting on to keep the franchise solvent.
Fox wants the bankruptcy case dismissed, saying it was filed in bad faith. Fox also says a planned auction of media rights to future games would violate its rights under an existing contract with the Dodgers and is designed primarily to benefit McCourt.
A hearing on the motion to dismiss is set for Dec. 27.
